Coronation Street Catch Up: the Dog Date afternoon edition

your one stop update on what happened last week on Canada's Coronation Street...

What the frig? No scenes of Gail on location in Thailand? No mithering on the beach? No dinner dates with a nefarious male? (i.e. Pad Thai with a bad guy). Oh well. Maybe next week.

In the meantime, the big news on the Street is Gary Windass. It's all falling apart for Gary and doing his (and my) head in.

Gary gets questioned by the coppers regarding his involvement in the factory roof collapse. Seems the police are zeroing in on Gary as the prime suspect. Gary also confesses to Imram... that Rick the loan shark was responsible for the roof collapse. Imram is not convinced.

Now desperate, Gary tries to plant evidence at Rick's house only to be interrupted by Sharon who wants to know what's going on. Gary tells her he killed Rick but then offers her 15,000 pounds to stay quiet and let his (Rick's) daughter and everyone else think Rick has gone AWOL because it was him that sabotaged the factory roof.

On the other end of the deception spectrum, Beth wants to sell her shares in Underworld to the highest bidder in order to fund a luxury holiday on Love Island. Kirk is not impressed.

Evelyn is determined to expose Larry the cowboy electrician with her publicity stunts and Roy, while he has been the victim of Larry's shoddy work, is not pleased. Gemma gets a job working for Evelyn.

Maria's bad luck with dating continues. She meets a Mama's boy and a fella who likes walkies. Ali and her share a bottle but Maria doesn't want to date him because Michelle wouldn't approve.

Jan warns Alina not to contact Seb. Paula reports that her house has been broken into for a second time.

Gary explains why he borrowed money from a loan shark
"I was desperate"
(sleeping on an air mattress will do that to you)

Evelyn isn't impressed with Roy's lack of revenge:
"Could you get more namby pamby?"
(I believe he could)
.
Gary tells Sharon what happened to Rick:
"I killed him"
(thanks, that clears that up)

Gemma describes Maria's dating ability:
"She's a total freak magnet"
(Maybe she's barking up the wrong tree?)

Beth tells Kirk why she's selling her share in Underworld:
"I want to eat lobster on Love Island"
(she's being shellfish)

Maria to Michelle:
"I'm going to embrace celibacy"
(nun too soon)
***
Well, Corrie Companions, so ends another week. Maybe I'm crazy but I feel sorry for Gary. I always thought he was one of the good guys. I also thought he had money what with those lucrative trips to the Ukraine, plus he was running Jason's building yard. Oh well. Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great week.
