Coronation Street Catch Up: the one night in Bangkok edition

your one-stop update on what happened last week on Canada's Coronation Street...

Let's start with Platt Chat. It's trial time and, even though Nick finally decides to tell the truth about the theft of money from his Gran, the judge gives David four months in jail, while Nicky gets off with a suspended sentence.

Shona is shocked. Leanne is relieved. Audrey is  not amused. Sarah wants to have Nick removed from the Underworld management due to his brain injury.

And what of Gail?

Well, funny you should ask. Seems Gail realized that she was getting the cold shoulder from everyone and decided to leave a chicken in the oven and take a flight to Thailand. Weatherfield's loss is Bangkok's gain.

Elsewhere, Jan and Eileen are getting closer (i.e. more than lodger and landlord). However Eileen isn't sure she wants to launch into another relationship after you-know-who. Seb discovers that Alina has left her job and doesn't want to see him. What gives?

Gary keeps running into Rick's daughter and is having trouble explaining to her what's going on. The daughter is getting suspicious and wants to know where her Dad is.

Maria is still on the lookout for a man. Roy is having electrical problems at the caf and Evelyn's sharp tongue isn't helping. Sinead and Daniel receive good news on the cancer front despite their fears. A vacation is planned but then Sinead gets a big order for her budding beard oil business.

And now for a few lines from the week that was:

Leanne suggests an economical outing to Nick:
"We could go to Ikea"
(I hear they have some nice Poangs)

Liz Googles Jan and tells Eileen the bad news:
"It seems he's not the law abiding citizen we thought he was"
(as long as he's not a serial killer)

Roy to Peter re: Evelyn's chatter:
"I'm no fan of banter"
(really?)

Liz to Eileen re: Jan:
"Get him to bed or put it to bed"
(no other options?)

Gail while en route to Thailand:
"The first day of the rest of my life"
(she gone from Weatherfield to Bangkok. No further comment)

Well, Corrie Caballeros, so ends another week. There's something fishy about that Jan guy. Maybe it's the ponytail. And what of Paula? Did she recognize him? Curiouser and curiouser. Thanks for stopping by and have a great week. Cheers!
