Coronation Street Catch Up: the witness protection program edition

your one-stop update on what happened on last week on Canada's Coronation Street...

Oh dear. Gun violence rears its ugly head on Coronation Street as Jan (the police informant who wants Eileen to come away with him) is tracked down by the nasty Rachel (member of the human trafficking gang) and shot while he is hugging Eileen.

Jan is okay but has earned himself a one-way ticket into the witness protection program and Eileen (despite Seb's objections) says she's going to join him. Not so promising for Seb. Alina is moving back home and Seb will be left in Weatherfield.

Elsewhere Fiz is back home with Hope. There's only one snag. Ty didn't enroll Hope at the local school.  Fiz is not amused, even less amused when she finds that Evelyn has barricaded herself, Brian and Ty into the Principal's office as a protest. That doesn't work and when Hope hears Ty and Fiz arguing, she runs off and gets locked in the factory which subsequently catches fire. Ali hops the fence to try and free Hope but it looks pretty precarious.

That Ghastly Geoff is still at it, pretending he has some fatal disease. Yasmeen is sick with worry and spills the beans to Sally who tells Tim and... well, now everyone wants to know what's wrong with Geoff and why he didn't say anything.

As for the Lord of the Rings (aka Robert), Jed has the upper hand for a while and enjoys blackmailing Roberto by threatening to tell Michelle about Bobby's two-timing. But Robert then turns the tables on Jed threatening to take his CCTV footage of Jed taking money from the Bistro to the police. Looks like the duplicitous dinner-maker has dodged yet another bullet.

Asha decides that she wants her own room but that means Dev has to tell Mary to leave which seems rather harsh given Mary's enormous contribution to the Allahan family. Steve continues to try to build bridges with Emma but Emma's not keen.

And now for a couple lines from the week that was

Eileen to Seb re: her plan to run away with Jan:
"We're going into the witness protection program"
(Well, remember not to do that change of address thing at the post office)

Brian doesn't want to barricaded in the office with Evelyn:
"I think I'm getting Stockholm syndrome"
(by which he means he'd rather be in Sweden)

***
Well, Weatherfield watchers, so ends another week. Apologies for the paucity of lines of the week. I must have been asleep at the switch last week. Anyway, thanks as always for stopping by and have a great week.
