Coronation Street Catch Up: the Weatherfield Sewage edition

your one stop update on what happened last week on Canada's Coronation Street...

The on again, off again Daniel and Sinead wedding is on again. A few little snags though.

First, looks like Daniel and Bethany are giving each other long, meaningful looks and you know what that means. As poetic Steve would say, "talking leads to non talky things."

Second, Michelle and her new "business partner" (so that's what the kids are calling it these days), are getting very chummy to the point where Ray magnanimously decides to pay for Daniel/Sinead's wedding and move it from the sketchy Bistro to his lavish posh hotel.

The Lord of the Rings (Roberto) is not amused, even less amused by Ray's proposal to franchise the Bistro (whatever that means) which Michelle has already said "yes" to.

Third, and most alarming, is the fact that Aunty Beth finds some disturbing growths on Sinead's neck just as the wedding is underway.

Elsewhere, Hope is rescued from the burning factory by a courageous Ali. Ty is concerned about how the fire started and suspects Hope but he is then convinced that she is innocent. But is she?

Speaking of fire, Emma collects her Dad's ashes and wants to scatter them on the Weatherfield County football pitch and succeeds thanks to the intervention of quasi-Dad Steve, and the two Bailey sons.

Eileen's plan to live happily ever after with Jan in witness protection falls apart perhaps due to Sean's interference. As you may recall, Sean visited Jan in hospital and tried to convince him not to include Eileen in his plans. As a result Jan leaves abruptly leaving only a letter for Eileen. Eileen is furious with Sean.

Ghastly Geoff agrees to return to Yasmeen's house but is continuing his pattern of lies and deceit to keep control of Yasmeen. Kev thinks Abi might be interested in him but she's only interested in videoing his rants for the Internet.

Gary continues to assuage his guilt by slipping a wad of cash into Kate's pocket. Kate thinks the gift came from JennyClaudia books a holiday to Venice for the Barlow family. Maybe she was inspired by Canal Street?

And now for a few lines from the week that was:

Daniel to Brian who sings to Baby Bertie:
"Didn't realize you were a Spice Girls fan"
(that's Scary)

Cathy complains about Brian's snoring:
"It's like sharing a bed with a wounded buffalo"
(well, he is a nomadic grazer)

Steve warns James about his chatting with Emma:
"Talking leads to non-talky things"
(thank you Dr. Macdonald)

Eileen to Sean:
"We're just people who drink together"
(doesn't that describe pretty well everyone on the Street?)

Bethany reads an article in the local paper:
"A day in the life of Weatherfield sewage"
(fascinating. Tell me less)

Mary to Seb:
"I used to be a member of a gang"
(the Mild Bunch?)

Daniel to Sinead:
"I don't know what's more important to you these days: me or beard oil"
(depends on whether you have a beard or not)

***

Well, collegial cobble-eros, so ends another week. Poor Sinead. I do hope this latest health scare isn't serious. After the sad story of Hayley, I'm not keen on another story line of loss. Oh well. Thanks as always for stopping by and have a geart week. Cheers!
