Coronation Street TGIF: the Valentine's Day edition

please note this post makes reference to the Feb 13 episode on CBC

On this Valentine's Day, we salute couples on Coronation Street. The Good (Ty & Fiz), The Bad (Rob & Tracy) and all the others. On the Street, the aftermath of Hayley's death continues, Sophie seeks out Maddy, Nick moves out of the Platt House of Horrors and Dev and Kal continue with plans for a gym (Hey, if they get Steve's Dad involved, they could call it 'Gym Mcdonald', so they could). (That's enough of the lame jokes - ed). Onward with a few lines from the week:

While unemployed, Beth considers new career options:
"I wonder if I could take up wrestling?"
(you could, but no-one would pay you)

Kirk voices concerns over Beth's wrestling ambitions:
"You don't want to spoil your looks"
(oh boy. this one is too easy)

Nick is having a reaction to Gail's mithering:
"I'm allergic to you"
(It's called 'Gailitis', I believe. Very common)

Kirk gets a whiff of Beth's cooking:
"Did I leave my trainers on the radiator?"
(No, but you may want to because they'll probably taste better than what Beth is making)

Michelle to Steve:
"You're the laziest, most cowatdly man I've ever known"
(sort of a fearful skiver)

The minister welcomes everyone to Hayley's funeral:
"We're here to celebrate the life of Hayley Ann Cropper"

Well, fellow Corrie Addicts, that's it for another week on the Street. If you're also watching the Olympics, rest assured that the figure skating term 'sow cow' is not a derogatory term exchanged between two women before an ugly cat fight, but rather the Salchow is a figure skating jump with a takeoff from a back inside edge of one foot. Just thought you'd like to know. Cheers and have a great weekend!

  1. Another batch of great commentaries! I find it hard to believe, though, that, in one breath, Michelle can insult Steve, then, in the next, tell him how much she loves him. It makes my head spin how fast she changes tunes.
