Coronation Street TGIF: the restorative justice edition

please note this post makes reference to the June 20 episode on CBC

"I'm Gail and I was burgled"
"I'm Corrie and I was nauseous"

Let's get to the memorable lines of the week.

The doctor is resigned to the fact that he's lost Tina:
"Time of death: 19:55"
(Even the miracle workers at Weatherfield General couldn't save her)

Rita is overcome with grief when she learns Tina has died:
"I shall miss you till the end of my days"
(unlike Dennis whom she will not)

Carla tells Peter the sombre news:
"Your mistress is dead"
(which one?)

Carla again:
"Go drink yourself to death"
(he's way ahead of you)

A nurse assesses Carla's symptoms of distress:
"How strong is the pain on a scale of 1 to 10?"
(Let's just say it's a 'Norris' (i.e. 10))

Tim tries to generate enthusiasm for Sally's horticultural excursion:
"Flowers and bushes yay!"
(just wait till he sees the perennials)

Roy consoles Carla after she loses the baby:
"Life can be cruel and arbitrary"
(amen)

Michelle describes Tina with little sympathy:
"She was a weapon of mass destruction"
(more like 'mass seduction' I would think)

Julie tells Sally she's overly concerned with Tim's pending proposal:
"You are catastrophising"
(Isn't that one of Kal's exercise classes at the gym? - just after Pilates and before Zumba)

***

Well, dear Corrie Colleagues, that was the week we lost Tina. Stroppy till the end. She'll be missed - mostly by Simon. Have a great weekend and thanks as always for stopping by. See you next week right here at the Hip.

  2. Hmm. It's a good idea which requires some deep skiving /thought. Thanks for the comment and all the best.
