Coronation Street TGIF: the manky navy blazer edition

a look back at the week that was on Coronation Street

Best scene of the week? When the front door was opened and the three Tinker women were there in all their glory like a trio of evil spirits from a Shakespearean play (Mac-Beth? - ed). Yes, preparations for the Tinker-Sutherland nuptials are underway, 80's style.  Kirk feels inadequate. The Tinkers are making themselves right at home.

Elsewhere, Luke and Maria's relationship has stalled. Beth's wedding outfit was saved. Norris finally figures out that Amy does not have supernatural powers. Nick and Erica part amicably. Roy is sentenced to do community service for attacking Gary.

Michelle is back on the dating scene, having drinks with Hamish. Gail is back (oh boy) and Max goes missing, out with his biological and pathological dad, Callum. Kylie is still missing. Oh, and Beth mistakes Sean's vicar boyfriend for a male stripper on her hen night.

And now for a few lines from the week that was:

Luke panics because he has promised to cook a meal for Maria:
"I told her I'm like Jamie Oliver in the kitchen"
(pukka! or should I say puker?)

Amy communicates some info from the spirit world
"Norris is a bad man"
(maybe she does have extra-sensory perception)

David to Eva re: Callum:
"He's gonna pay for rippin' my family apart"
(don't worry, he can afford it with all the dosh he's making from selling drugs)

Michelle tells Eva she's out of practice with dating:
"My feelers have gone all rusty"
(ahem, I was unaware that rust affected those um... areas)

Craig explains why he rejected his 80's outfit:
"I didn't want to be Boy George"
(even Boy George doesn't want to be Boy George)

Sean's boyfriend, Billy, appreciates hors d'oeuvres:
"I could never resist a good cocktail sausage"
(quick, pass the peanuts)

Craig says he's glad that Kirkie is marrying Beth due to the urinary preferences of his pet rat:
"You're the only one who Darryl's peed on"
(Yay! Darryl's number one... means Kirk's number one)

***
Well, Corrie Compadres, so ends another week. Next week is wedding week on the Street so don't miss it. The marriage of Beth and Kirk is a magic moment which comes once (or maybe twice) in a lifetime. Thanks for stopping by and have a great week! Cheers!
