Coronation Street Weekender: the Robert and the Uptights edition

a look back at last week on Canada's Coronation Street

Mea culpa. My extended skiving prevented me from posting last week and that resulted in an avalanche of complaint. Still, even missing a week, there's not that much to report on the Corrie front.

There's Steve pining for his cuddly, affectionate companion (hint: not Michelle). There's Lloyd bummed out because Andrea sold his prized record (Robert and the Uptights doing a Northern soul version of Don't Cry for me Argentina) and, bizarrely, Andrea had to leave the Street.

Simon continues his wayward violent ways and gets drunk with his mates in the Bistro. Maria buys a car for Luke but Steph thinks she's playing away.  Carla decides to sell the factory and devote her life to gambling and Chardonnay but not before firing Sally for being highly annoying.

On the Platt front, Sarah tells the Platt clan about Max finding Callum's gun. Sarah also finds out about Bethany's drug fun with Callum. Then rising tensions cause Jason to get involved and he pours a glass of ale onto Callum's crotch. More to come.

Tracy asks Chef Robert to move into Chez Barlow but Ken thinks it's too soon. And last but not least, Fiz, Ty, Kirk, Beth, Sinead and Ches go camping. It's a tale of two tents and a mysterious camping know-it-all fella who shows up at the campsite.

Now a few lines from last week:

Tracy complements Robert on his foccacia:
"You're good in bread as well"
(I don't get it)

Steve misses Rover the dog and tells Kirk he doesn't want another pet:
"I'm not a cat person"
(he's not even a person-person really)

The $1,000 record in Lloyd's collection:
"Robert and the Uptights"
(I must have missed them on Top of the Pops)

David is pleased to see the police arrest Callum for possession of a firearm:
"Let's see you get out of this one, Houdini"
(maybe he can find a good lawyer at the Dog and Gun}

***

Once again, fellow followers of Corrie, I offer my apologies for not posting last week.  But rest assured I am back in the saddle, firmly ensconced at Corrie Central and ready for the week ahead. Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!
