Coronation Street Catch-Up: Weatherfield's top model edition

a look back at last week on Canada's Coronation Street

Look out Sally. Now that she's fired Norris as her PR guru, Candidate Cole has thrown his hat into the ring and that means the Council election has become a battle of the titans.

Speaking of titans, thanks to Sally's investment, Tim is now a captain of industry and co-owner of Streetcars. First order of business: get new biscuits.

Tracy is not being nice to Carla. Armed with the knowledge of Carla's one-nighter with Robert, Tracy is threatening to tell Nick and destroy Carla's happiness. Unless... Carla moves away and Nick sells the Bistro to Robert. I hear Devon's quite nice this time of the year.

Carla tells the Connors she's moving away, while Gail finds out by accident from Michelle and is surprised and chagrined by the news.

Phelan is still hanging around like a bad smell and Anna's freaking out. Now ol' Phelan is demanding that Anna apologize for her car-wrecking behaviour.  A new fit femme fatale has made her debut on the Street in the person of Rana the nurse, friend of Alya and object of Zeedan's affections.

And now a few lines from the week that was:

Sinead to Chesney after her successful catalogue photo shoot:
"I don't want to be Weatherfield's next top model"
(especially with all that pressure from the Weatherfield Gazette paparazzi)

Sally to her campaign manager (Norris):
"You will not use unapproved head shots of me"
(but those are the best kind)

Tim to Sally:
"I don't want to be a thinker, I want to be drinker"
(It's an 'either or' proposition)

David assures Nick that he can be a successful entrepreneur even if he leaves Weatherfield:
"You did it in Canada, didn't you?"
(Yes, he built a canoe empire and a chain of successful beaver farms)

Rana assures Zeedan that her nursing skills are excellent:
"I've got a very nice bedside manner"
(that'll come in handy, I guess)

Norris to Tim regarding biscuit preferences:
"I like a fig roll and it keeps you regular"
(Good to know)

Anna to Phelan:
"I'm not nervous, just repulsed"
(you can be both)

***

Well, fellow Street urchins, so ends another week. Carla moving to Devon? What's she going to do? Start a Pinot farm? An organic knicker factory? Sounds like a bad idea to me. On the election front, looks like the US republican nomination will have to take a back seat to Cole versus Metcalfe for a seat on the Weatherfield Council. Should be a great campaign.

As always, thanks for stopping by and have a great week. Cheers!
