Coronation Street Catch-Up: the busy Weatherfield Hospital edition

a look back at last week on Canada's Coronation Street.

Wow! David's gasoline filled, second-hand car was more flammable than a defective cellphone.

After escaping from the Bistro cellar, David crashes his wonky auto on the Street. The boy blunder escapes unscathed unlike the innocent bystanders. Bottom line: Weatherfield General staff are working overtime and poor Anna is in intensive care with major burns.

Robert drops by to tell the Windasses what really happened and that David blasted out of the Bistro cellar intent on mayhem - but he changes his mind and Nick is relieved.

Not so Kevin. He blames David's headcase ways for Anna's injuries and is bent on revenge. As a footnote to all this, Clayton's trial concludes and 'our kid' is found guilty of murder. Norris seems pleased with the verdict.

Down the hallway of the same hospital, on your right, is poor Ken. Seems he suffered a stroke during a row with Peter, the prodigal Portsmouth son.

In non-hospital news, Alya's embroidery machine has arrived at the factory but Sinead is less than thrilled to be using it as she feels she's not getting her fair share for her idea. Johnny and Jenny are back from vacation and Johnny doesn't like this new venture.

Sharif tells Yasmeen that he loaned money to Alya. Caz says she's finally leaving Maria's flat and Michelle is upset with Leanne for telling Tracy about Steve's genetic disease problem.

And now for some lines from the week that was:

An angry Kevin to Gail re: David:
"He should have have been locked up years ago"
(He was, but only for a few episodes in the Bistro cellar)

Kevin again to Audrey re: David:
"I'll kill him"
(could you be more explicit?)

Gail to David:
"I am proud of you"
(yes, he didn't kill himself after all)

Gail warns Sarah not to get chummy with Gary:
"You leave those Windasses alone"
(you don't know where they've been)

Kirk to Audrey re: Caz staying in Maria's flat:
"She's more sticky than a sticky bun"
(and bad for your health too)

Well, Weatherfield Watchers, so ends another week. Lots of action and drama, followed by wailing, weeping and gnashing of teeth. Most amazing is the fact that David has survived yet another headcase plan. That guy has nine lives. Still Kev will no doubt have his revenge by making sure that David's car doesn't pass its MOT.  That'll teach him. Have a great week and thanks so much for visiting the blog.
