Coronation Street Catch Up: the Netflix and chill edition

your one stop update on what happened last week on Canada's Coronation Street...

Here's the key take-away from last week: don't wear a suit in jail.

That nugget of advice gleaned from watching David and Nick in jail for violating their bail conditions thanks to Gail who masterminded a Platt family reconciliation even though D & N were told not to have contact with Audrey. The clan love-in quickly degenerates into a family feud, the coppers show up and Gran gets conked on the head with a knickknack. Thanks Gail!

As a result the two Platt boys are banged up in jail and Nick is getting some threatening vibes from his cellmate, perhaps because he's more dressed for the boardroom than the big house.

All this follows David telling Imran that Nick could be responsible for the factory roof sabotage and Nick telling his lawyer that his brain damage (caused by David) was the reason behind his theft of Audrey's money.

Elsewhere, Carla and Kirk are back (not together, but wouldn't that be an interesting story line?)

Carla is better, on medication and being too mithered by Peter. She makes a splash by telling the Underworld workers that she's giving her share of the factory to them. She also tries to make amends with Kate.

Kirk is taking a break from his world tour to reunite with Beth. Steve's surreptitious Unicorn rental business seems to be taking off but Tim is still unaware that Tiny the horse is playing the part of the Unicorn.

Sean fingers Paul as the most likely suspect in the theft of the charity box in the clinic. Paul is not amused. Later on, Sean gets slugged in the alley and assumes it's Paul. In fact it was a mate of Paul's and Tim happens to overhear the mate brag about it.

Michelle is now working with Alya on a fledgling catering business with Ryan facilitating the partnership. Speaking of Alya, she is moving out of Yasmeen's house, all part of Ghastly Geoff's scheme to control Yasmeen and get his hands on her money.

Maria is looking for love in all the wrong places (thanks to her dating app profile) while Dr. Ali is quite interested but not getting his interest reciprocated. Sinead is anxious about her upcoming MRI.

And now for some lines from last week:

Sally tries to help Gail with yoga:
"Clear your mind of all thoughts"
(not a problem)

Emma helps Maria with her dating profile:
"What kind of guy are you looking for?"
(one with a pulse)

Maria cites her preferences on her dating website profile:
"Happy to watch Netflix and chill"
(pervs apply within)

Carla explains her recovery to Tyrone:
"I don't see dead people any more"
(Oh good)

Sean explains why Carla isn't responsible for the factory roof sabotage:
"You can't climb up scaffolding in high heels"
(Nice work, Sherlock)

David to Nick:
"The brain's a delicate organ"
(...if only one of you had one)

***

Well, Corrie Cohorts, so ends another week. Nice to see Carla back. Even nicer to see Kirkie blossoming into the Ed Sheeran of Weatherfield. Hope that someone exposes Geoff before he becomes another Corrrie supervillain and rips off Yasmeen. Have a great week and thanks as always for stopping by.
