Coronation Street TGIF: the 'what happens in Latvia stays in Latvia' edition

please note this post makes reference to the May 30 episode on CBC

So Beth goes to Latvia for cosmetic surgery and returns without saying nary a word about what actually happened over there. In fact, one might say the enhancement has not resulted in an enhancement to her life - if she even had the enhancement at all (stop saying 'enhancement' and get on with it - ed). Let's take a quick look at some memorable lines from the week that was:

Kirk highlights the differences between Latvia and Weatherfield:
"They eat pickled cucumber and drink sour milk"
(do they wear their underwear on the outside too?)

Beth's parting words before leaving for her foreign enhancement
"Latvia and bust"
(Bra-vo)

Todd's obnoxious remark (to Luke) about Maria - Part 1:
"A boy like you could do so much better than a clapped out, backstreet crimper like this."
(don't hold back Todd, tell us what you really think)

Todd's obnoxious remark (to Maria) about Maria - Part 2:
"You've been dumped so many times, I'm surprised you don't walk around in a bin liner"
(are you Jerry Seinfeld's evil twin?)

Tracy plants a kiss on Rob and Rob wonders why:
"I'm just marking my territory"
(thank God she's not a cat - or Rob would have to send his suit to the dry cleaner)

Tracy doesn't like the look of Tina:
"She's got the sort of face you just want to punch"
(although you might cut your hand on her earrings)

Fiz expresses her opinion about Todd:
"He's horrible"
(yeah, in fact I believe that's his Twitter handle: @horrible)

Tyrone agrees:
"I'd love to hit him again"
(Go ahead, make our day)

Well, Corrie comrades, that's it for another week on the Street. Thanks for stopping by and a special thanks to everyone who takes the time to post a comment. It always makes my day. Have a great week and I'll meet you back here next week as Peter struggles to stay sober and Rob gets closer to the truth.
Cheers!
